Anecdotes of a Super Mom |

Motivation.
If you are at all interested in learning about the food you eat please watch these films. I think everyone should be aware of the process of how most food ends up on your plate. It really is disgusting how Americans eat. Here’s a list of my personal favorites:
Food Inc.
Food Matters
Forks over Knives
Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead
King Corn
Off the topic of food, there is another documentary that I must recommend,
Fuel.
I can honestly say, I’ve watch it at least 5 times. It’s great. I think I learn something I missed every time I watch it. Such an eye opener.
All of these films can be watched on Netflix, some even on Hulu, I believe (but don’t hold me to that).
B is for Barbee Family <3 I love how this one turned out.
Scrapbook paper, wood letter, mod podge, foam sponge brush and black paint.
One seam jammie pants. Easiest pants you’ll ever make. I made at least 10 between Christmas presents and all the ones I made for K. I love having clothes that are easy to make, cute, and not every other kid has the same thing. I hope to have the confidence to continue to make clothing that requires higher sewing skills.
Scrap TuTu’s??! Yes, PLEASE! SO much fun to make, uses up my scraps and makes a princess twirler happy, I’m so in.
This is the first one I made, for Christmas, which was an amazing idea, especially for our Christmas card photo. K loved it so much, she wore it as often as possible. You can’t really wash it without it unraveling, unless you put it in the wash on hand wash cycle and do not dry it! I plan to make many more in my future. Tutorial I used can be found here.

If you’re into quilting but just don’t have the time, patience, skill or whatever else for a full on quilt, try a small project like this Kindle cover. I made a few for Christmas gifts and they we’re a hit! I’m working on an iPad cover now, I really enjoy the small quilting projects I can make for others. This is the tutorial I used for this particular project.

Happy stress free quilting!
K is for Kahla.
Same process as the T. I will be hot gluing ribbon on them (possibly lace on K’s) for hanging.
T is for Tiberius.
Making letters for my babies door. Scrapbook paper, wood letter, mod podge and stickers. Easy project.
Great idea turned into an amazing idea #2. Yeah, we’re a brillant family. I made a few door jam snakes a few months ago. Not only to they serve as a door snake, but they work well as a window snake too. I have one in my childrens window along with heavy homemade curtains to keep them as warm and cozy as possible. These snakes only require minimal sewing skills and can be filled with kitty litter (my choice because we have a Mr. Kitty, who is a girl), rice, rocks, anything of the sort. I also used a heavy home decor fabric which is best in my opinion.
Stay warm Washington!
Funny how a great idea turned into an amazing idea when it gets to freezing tempatures. My lovely brillant husband made ‘logs’ out of the phone books everyone throws away! Basically, he just soaked the paper in water and very tightlt wound them around an old broom handle until it made a log. They sat drying above our heater for a couple of months, dry just in time! They go fast, but put off some good heat. So in a pinch, these are fantastic. And why not recycle something that everyone just throws away any way? Right?
Go green!
